Halloween is somewhat dear to my heart since I am a Halloween babe. I was born and raised in Germany and during my childhood my birthday was always just an ordinary day, for in Germany there was no Halloween. Then, when I turned 18, I celebrated my birthday in Manhattan, Kansas. Wow, that was so cool, because out of nowhere my birthday became a 'special day'. I've been in the US for over 33 years now and always enjoy my 'Halloween' Birthday.
As a part of my seasonal collection of tissue box covers, it would therefore simply be odd, if I did not offer at least a small Halloween selection to celebrate this unique holiday.

Fall is in full swing !

Summer is gone now and Fall is in full swing here in Salt lake City. The night temperatures are rapidly dropping near freezing and our lawn is getting covered with leaves. I've hesitantly started to accept this change - as I do every year - and the annuals are starting to come out, the flower pots and summer yard art is being stowed away in our beautiful new garden shed we build this year, and all the fall decorations have been placed around the yard and inside our house to celebrate the seasonal change.

Coca Cola Custom Vintage Tissue Covers, Coasters, and Decorative Mats

I agreed to make a couple of Coca Cola covers out of this great flannel vintage Coca Cola fabric for a custom order.

They turned out so great, and I am so excited because I know that she will be very happy with the outcome. They are so cool !

On top of that, I had some good fabric scraps left over and I wanted to use them for something decorative so that this unique old fabric wouldn’t go to waste. I looked at the options and quickly decided to make a set of 4 small coasters and two pretty nice size decorative mats that could be used for a variety of decorative purposes. I thought that the coasters would work well for drinks as long as they weren’t iced drinks that sweat a lot. I think that a lot of moisture would probably ruin them in time, but otherwise they should last a long time.

To make these special covers and coasters was such a wonderful way to use this fun old vintage Coca Cola fabric. She has loved and kept it for such a long time and I am so thrilled that I was able to help her breathe new life into her treasured fabric. She will surely enjoy them for many more years to come.

   

Every shop has a story . . .

. . . . For many years my store bought Puffs box was out of sync with my home decor and it certainly never complimented my seasonal decorations and colors. Eventually I decided that I needed to do something about this misfit of decor and I bought some seasonal fabric to adapt my Puffs box with it. It worked pretty well for a while, but I wanted something better, something more perfect. Eventually I had this inspired thought: There must be other Puffs users out there who feel the same way as I do . . . and maybe . . . I could create some great looking, fun covers for my favorite tissues and share them with other Puffs enthusiasts who would also appreciate a great look. So I did and here I am, offering my great invention to all of you who would like to turn your unsightly store bought tissue box into a great looking piece of home decor that fits both your style and your taste since you can use them with any brand or any size, except the boutique box.
