Winter is always a big adjustment for me. The one thing that really brightens my winter though is the Christmas holiday season. I love to decorate the house and I don't like to travel so that I can be at home to enjoy the sparkling lights, the holiday decorations, and the magical feelings of this special time of the year. This festive decorating season was my inspiration for creating my very decorative seasonal tissue box covers. Below you'll find just a small sample of my large Christmas box cover collection. Visit my website TissueBoxCoversEtc to see the whole holiday collection, visit my Etsy Shop , or find me on Facebook . May you find your inspiration during this magical season, and always! Happy Holidays.

Simple and inexpensive ways to decorate with some bountiful gifts of nature !
Here are a few things I did to decorate my home this Fall season without spending a lot of money and by taking advantage of some of the bountiful gifts nature has to offer here in Utah.
In the first display I cut some Red Fountain Grass from my yard, sprayed it with a little hairspray to preserve it, hung it upside down to let it dry out for a day, and then put it in this pretty glass bottle for our Fall enjoyment. I think it makes a really attractive and inexpensive display and it works with this and other grasses you may have access to.
Here I took some multi-colored wheat and a few pods I picked off a tree when I was walking one day, to turn this pretty glass bottle into a really nice Autumn display.
Here I used natural, straw like ribbon that I bought many years ago and tied it with some wheat and a few misc things that I had laying around. It gives this pumpkin colored candle a great Autumn accent.
I think this twig of dried lavender, a dried slice of orange, a couple of dried leave twigs, all tied with a couple of festive ribbons make a great Fall accent.
I accented the plant in this old milk bottle for the season by using some of the same pods and natural twine I as I did before. As you can see, this twine is available in three complementing Fall colors.
Here, I simply placed dried out corn husk leaves in this beautiful handmade leave bottle that my best friend made for me. It gives this gorgeous bottle a perfect natural accent that makes it stand out even more.

It's easier for me to adjust to Autumn with fun seasonal home decorations !
I know my calendar has been telling me that fall is here. I got my autumn decorations out and spend a good amount of time carefully placing them around our home and yard. Nonetheless, I have to admit that I was in denial. I know, I’m not ready for the change of seasons; I want to hang on to the beautiful mid 80’s temperatures here in Salt Lake. But then, yesterday I got a shot of reality. The definite sign that cannot be ignored, it’s happening! Our lawn is beginning to show the falling leaves from our box elder tree. It’s starting, whether I’m in denial or not. One of the things that helps me to adjust and enjoy the inevitable is the pleasure I get from the seasonal decorations around our beautiful home and yard. My seasonal tissue box covers are an important piece of this enjoyment. I love seeing a different design in each room we use them, and I love the functionality of this piece of decoration. I guess that’s my way of making the best out of the inevitable here in Salt Lake, and I wouldn’t want it any other way. Happy Autumn.
